Just came back with stitches

When you have a lot of moles and a history of melanoma in your family it is better to be careful. So I went to my usual skin check appointment today. First everything went well, but finally the doc found three moles on my back that needed to be removed.

Hate to know that and still wait - so (like alltimes) I said - cut them out now, what he did.
It hurt a little bit, I got  myself some shower patches for the next days afterwards and did a little bit of "I was brave I can indulge myself" shopping.

I took today and tomorrow off from work to do things at home (i.e. learning).

Now I am sitting at my kitchen table, enjoy a hot cup of tea my husband made and see snowflakes dancing outside the window, beautiful!

Today we had for the first time this winter real snow. Big snowflakes that gave a nice white drape over the city.

I finished a bag today.

And I cleaned under my studio bed. Not that I do that with fun. I put some pics on the wall and one little freaking nail decided to crash and go behind and under my bed. I had to scream for my husband to help me when I realized that I was stuck under the matress trying to find the nail.

Now the floor under my bed is all clean and I have more pics on the wall. :-)

Looking for a secure place ...

... in this turbulent times?

Well, nothing is secure. Everything changes.
The only thing you can rely on are yourself.
Be proud of what you can. Know what you can not.
And do the best.

That's all.

What do you do when your workload is overwhelming?

Cat in Istanbul

I try to write everything down on lists and to put deadlines behind each point.

Starting the new year - allready 2015! - in Istanbul was something special. Usual I stay at home sleeping when the new year comes. This year I was in Istanbul and awake.

Why Istanbul? Well, I still had an invitation to go to Vienna by my husband, but when I saw that Istanbul was not much more expensive I decided to book Istanbul and travel to Vienna later.

Well, perhaps Vienna would have had better weather - in Istanbul we had two fine days (means without rain), one nice day (means snow) and the rest of the days we have had heavy rain and wind. The rain was so heavy we were soaked in no time. The great thing was that you got tea and fresh fruit-juices for small money nearly everywhere. So we drank a lot of hot tea - or salep, a hot milky beverage - and added a lot of vitamins with orange or pomegranate juices.

Love this sign above that I saw in the streets of Istanbul - consider beauty.
May this be my word for 2015.

Istanbul Streetart

Istanbul Modern

A bit difficult to find, coz there is a big building site in front, the Istanbul Modern.

I could sit for days in this nice museum. While the area is not very big the permanent exhibition is very interesting and sometimes they have special exhibitions, too.
And they have a nice museum restaurant with great food and a beautiful view of the Bosphorus.

Yes, I know I was a bit much quiet these days here. Well, today I will catch up. Take a big cup of hot beverage and enjoy.

Last week I stayed in Istanbul.

December is surely not the best time to visit Istanbul, but I wanted to travel together with my husband and his timeframe did not allow much else.

There is nearly no way to get a pic of the silhouette of Istanbul with one or another mosque.
Or when you get to smaller pics without stray cats or dogs. They live in the streets, but people provide food and shelter.

And the Bosphorus - there is a lot melody in this city.
I just got some tunes of it.

Which part I loved most - surely the Asian side. There it was not so crowded and there is Ciya. We ate four times at Ciya and had a turkish coffee afterwards at Fazil Bey. Oh, and we tried salep and boza. Well, I do not need to say more about it than we went there four times in a row.You can read more about Turkish cuisine here.
